Let’s say that being hit by a car is a complete surprise how the hell are you supposed to do this jump up on the hood thing? Not every car is going to be a 2004 Honda Accord with a very low hood, nor are you going to have the time and thought process to pull off this stunt man move.

I’m theorizing this was a fun article to produce because the authors got to jump on someone’s 14 year old honda several times.

Now lets look at a common car on the road today the Ford Explorer, that’s a high jump!

What about an F350? You will need a ladder to get over the hood. I expect this fellow is of average height, the hood is almost at eye level.

It seems the whole point is to disconnect your feet from the ground and move your center of gravity upwards, making it more likely you’re not going to get suctioned underneath the vehicle.

99% of it is just stupid, though. If you’re getting whacked by a crossover, you’re screwed.

If you think a street is empty when you step into it then you get what you deserve. I would much rather make the additional effort to know that it’s empty...rather than try and convince my aged body to do something it couldn’t even do 25 years ago.

I jump quite high in spite of being white and old. Not sure I could jump on top of some SUV or truck hoods, though.
